How to Clean a Glass Cooktop

All you need is:

  1. Bowl & Hot Soapy Water
  2. Baking Soda
  3. A Cleaning Rag
  4. Gloves (baking soda can be harsh on your hands)

First, you fill a bowl with hot tap water and mix it with some dish soap. Submerge the rag in the bowl and get it wet.

Apply baking soda in a generous amount all over the cooktop.

Now pull out that hot soapy rag from the bowl and squeeze half the water out. You want it to be soggy, not sopping wet. Place the rag over the baking soda on the cooktop and let it rest a good 15 minutes. Then swirl the rag around in circles, using the baking soda paste as a gentle scrub. Dry up the surface and shine it up with a cloth.

Get it to sparkle and shine by spritzing the surface with a little bit of vinegar, and wipe clean.

What kind of day are you having?

Some days are better than others, but no matter how our day is going, we need to remember Psalm 118:24:

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Do you have a friend who is hurting?

If you have a friend who is hurting:

  1. Silence often speaks louder than words.
  2. Speak Gospel love.
  3. Pray--tell your friend you are praying for them and actually do it.
  4. Don't forget them.

If you have a friend who is hurting, don't think that because you have not experienced the same trial they are going through that you cannot be a good friend to them. You can. Sit. Listen. Pray. And show them the love of Jesus.

Where are you at?

What if each face were a billboard that announced the true state of its owner's heart? How many would say, "Desperate! Business on the Rocks!" or, "Broken: In Need of Repair," or, "Faithless, Frantic, and Fearful?"

Time for a Spring Vegetable Garden

As the temperatures are getting a bit warmer, we start to think of yardwork and planting our gardens. Some of us have flower gardens and some have vegetable gardens to enjoy the fresh green beans, corn, squash, zucchini, and more!

HERE is a link to some tips that may help as you get ready to plant those seeds.

Thought for the day....

What good has hatred ever brought? What hope has anger ever created? What problems have ever been resolved by revenge?

TIME CHANGE!

Remember that we choose to live in Michigan. This is the day that the Lord has made!

From Bill Steffen's blog on Wood TV8 - February 20, 2014: "Also of note…snowcover at the [Grand Rapids Airport] has dropped from 24″Tues. AM to 20″Thurs. morning…we’ll probably lose another 4-6 with the rain and warm air today…but there will still be plenty of snow…the rain will soak into the snow and it’ll all freeze up before daybreak Friday.  AGAIN – there is still a significant danger of roof collapses with the snow falling into the rain – also, try and shovel out fire hydrants and drains if you can. We’ll have team coverage on the incoming storm at 10 PM on WXSP and after the Olympics on WOOD, TV-8."

God must have had a blast!

Painting the stripes on the zebra, hanging the stars in the sky, putting the gold in the sunset. What creativity! Stretching the neck of the giraffe, putting the flutter in the mockingbird's wings, planting the giggle in the hyena.... And then, as a finale to a brilliant performance, he made man.... A human who had the unique honor to bear the stamp, "In His Image."

NO WONDER THEY CALL HIM THE SAVIOR

God made the wild animals according to their kinds.... Then God said, "Let us make man in our image." Genesis 1:25-26.

~ Max Lucado, God Came Near
